What LICE beneath?

Sunday, 25 September 2011

I was having a beautiful Sunday breakfast with Ababe Jr when I received a message from my sister informing me that Ababe Jr's cousin has lice and he has spread it to his brothers! As they were all playing together the day before, I peeked Ababe Jr's hair and lo and behold there were eggs stuck to his hair!

Waited for Mr Ababe to pick us up and immediately went to the barber shop and got his hair cropped real short.. Ababe Jr was very happy as he really wanted the almost bald hair Rooney style! Even the barber didn't charge us as we had just gotten his hair cut 4 days back.

And that's the story behind Ababe Jr's short cropped hair... Thank GOD the eggs disappeared...

p.s. 3 days later there was an explosion at the Empire Gallery Subang where Ababe Jr and me had our peaceful breakfast..

Celebrating Malaysia Day and Mr Ababe's Birthday!

Happy 38th Birthday Mr Ababe!

For the past 2 years, Malaysia has declared that 16 September is a Malaysia Day and is now a Public Holiday. Lo and behold the date is the same as Mr Ababe's birthdate! Thus for the past 2 years we have been celebrating his birthday...

This year, since it's the month of Syawal and we owe our family members a BBQ on the "new" patio, the date chosen was (to nobody's surprise) 16 September 2011! It was going to be a long weekend and the date just seemed right.

As per last year when I surprised Mr Ababe with the Elmo and Cookie Monsters' cupcakes (which of course he was not surprised at all!), this year I got him a rainbow cake! Loved the cake for the colours. Wished I could decorate a table with all the colours of the rainbow but then I would have spoilt the surprise.. even though I know that he always suspects I would plan something..

Nonetheless, it was a fun day, we started with a tahlil for our beloved family members who have left us, we prayed for those who are still around us and we hope that Allah would bestow upon us all the Goodness and Happiness that we all cherish for..

Mr Ababe was BBQ Man Number 1 as usual, so I waited until he had rested and then came out with the cake... The kids sang Happy Birthday twice, loudly!

A very tiring weekend but I hope Mr Ababe enjoyed his birthday and his cake..

Lurve you lots babe!

Post Raya (Syawal 1432H / September 2011)

Ramadhan 1432H has just passed and we are now in the Syawal mood aka Raya mood!

Mummy and Daddy are so proud that Ababe Jr almost completed a whole month of fasting. Unfortunately on the last day (29 Ramadhan 1432H) he started coughing and had to take his medicines. That night we took him to the hospital for nebulizer treatment as we would be travelling the next few days for Raya! So for this year he managed to fast 28 days out of the 29 days.

Last year Ramadhan 1431H was the first year he started to learn to fast and he managed to fast for 10 days! I thought that was awesome because I remembered that I did not start to fast THAT early. Your Atok Man would be so proud of you my little hero.

This year for Raya we actually travelled extensively! First day we travelled all the way across the causeway to Singapore to celebrate Raya with Mr Ababe’s mom, grandma and relatives. We spent the night at Amansari Residence in Masai which was very nice and comfortable.

Second day we travelled all the way to the East Coast (Terengganu!) and celebrated with my big, fat Malaysian relatives. We visited relatives in Kuala Terengganu, Dungun, Kemaman and Kuantan. What a holiday!

The one week holiday I had as usual seemed too short. One month of Syawal will soon come to an end and we hope and we pray that we will get to see another Ramadhan and to celebrate another Syawal.

Upon the ending of Syawal, it will be 1 Zulkaedah 1432H (29 September 2011) and Ababe Jr will be 7 years old (according to the Islamic Calendar)!

Selamat Ulang Tahun then, Ababe Jr!
